Hello, I am Jürgen
At the age of 12, I got my first oboe lessons with Leonard Pietjou (Rheinische Philharmonie) and completed my artistic studies with a major in oboe with Vojislav Miller (Oper Frankfurt) and Dieter Groth (Staatstheater Darmstadt) at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main.
Ever since I can remember, oboe reed making has been fascinating to me. It offers incredible possibilities towards sound, dynamics and musical expression in a unique way. So in 1994 I founded my reed making studio KREEDO, at that time still under the name “Jürgen Krebs – Rohrbau für Oboe”. Over the years, I have developed a valid system for the cane selection, the measuring of shapes and staples up to reliable and warm sounding reeds for Oboe, Oboe D’Amore, English horn, Baritone Oboe and Musette.
In addition to reed making since then, I have been working with numerous orchestras both nationally and internationally. I have participated in many world premieres and I intensively dealed with Early Music since my studies, as well as I learned to make reeds for Classical Oboe, Baroque oboe, Baroque D’Amore and Oboe Da Caccia.
From 1994-2020 I was an oboe teacher at the Peter-Cornelius-Conservatory, Mainz.
